We’ve done it!!
Here comes the ninth – full of joy!
Alone in the waste land, Drypoint, 40 x 40 cm, 2020
It’s just finished, the last plate!
The zebra is – like the unicorn – a mythical creature. It is my mythical creature …
It took three weeks, every day, seven days a week until the nine boards were ready. The same time like I needed for the work of the big blue painting: “PRIMAVERA BLUES”.

Now, still one day of controls and corrections, as well as to define the values of white, so that my printers will have an idea how to ream the plate. Afterwards it will be sent to Leipzig.
Normally the artist takes part of the first prints, can modify – if necessary – some values or interact how intense or less the print colour has to remain.
But we are in special times (not possible to travel) and my both printers,
Jeannette and Reinhard, are old stagers in printing, who are curing my works since 1992 – which means: they properly know my intentions.
At the beginning of next week the boards should arrive in Leipzig and then we are entering together in a new and astonishing world:
It’s time for the harvest!
You will receive photos about the various processes of printing and, of course, about the results in classical black and white or in different kinds of blue.
The shoe cream could at best only simulate a print.
One more secret at the end (what I am always forgetting and then astonish myself):
Every print is mirror inverted.
I can write in that special way, but I can’t draw.
So, at the very end, the protagonists show themselves from their sinister point of view …
… With all good spirits …
Yours Grudda
